Easy Homemade Pico de Gallo Recipe
We love making the most of summer fruits and veggies with loaded salsas like Pico de Gallo. This hearty Mexican recipe tastes authentic and loaded with fresh tomatoes, onion, jalapeno, cilantro, and lime juice. You may want to let it chill about an hour before you serve it to help the fresh flavors blend well.
What is Pico de Gallo?
As known as Salsa Fresca or Salsa Cruda, Pico de Gallo is a popular Mexican salsa. It is made with equal parts tomatoes and onion, with fresh coriander and a big squeeze of lime juice. If you're a spicy-food-lover, add extra jalapeno slices for a spicy kick!
- 6 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh coriander
- 1 to 2 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons lime juice (about 1 lime)
- 1 tablespoon coriander stems, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients. Cover and refrigerate for 1-2 hours before servings.
